Fun in the sand

Good morning to all! Sorry it took me a little while to do an update from the weekend, but I was tired! 🙂

First things first, the level of Candy Crush Saga that I was stuck on forever in the car, I passed on the next try! Whoo-hoo!

We arrived at our campsite around 8:15 pm and it was a perfectly, beautiful night. Nate got busy setting up the tent while I took Telli for a walk. We took Telli camping last year when she was only 5 months old, so we didn’t quite know if she would remember what camping was. Well this was a different kind of camping….almost in the desert. Very hard ground, rocky and small cactus’ everywhere….no grass. Telli kept looking at me on the walk like, “mom I really need to go to the bathroom, but there is no grass to go on!”

2013-05-25 20.01.36

You can see the desert land, the sand dunes right behind that followed by the large mountains! It was a beautiful view from our campsite! On Sunday morning Telli had us up at 5:30 to go for a walk. The only good part about getting up that early after a rough night camping, was the sunrise! My photos don’t do it justice, but the way the soft light hit the mountains and the sand dunes, it was an incredible sight! After a quick egg breakfast we headed out the Great Sand Dunes National Park!

I will be honest, I didn’t know what to expect. I thought it was just a huge field of sand that you played in, ran down. sand surfed on, etc…..I didn’t know you go for quite the long hike…in sand!

2013-05-26 09.39.18   2013-05-26 09.41.15

We started the hike and it was flat like a big beach and we probably walked a couple hundred yards. Then the incline started, and boy, it was an incline. For every step you took I feel like you slide back a foot in the sand. The “only 1 mile hike” quickly turned more difficult! We hiked…stopped for water breaks….hiked some more and stopped some more….

2013-05-26 10.28.55

Let me tell you though…..sand has never been so beautiful! In case you are wondering the sand dunes were formed from deposits of sand coming out of the Sangre De Christo mountains and sand that was wind blown from the San Luis Valley. If you want more information, it as a very interesting history, read the story here. I still find it so crazy that this amazing formation, the largest in North America, is just plopped in the middle of the Rocky Mountains!

We finally made it to the top of one of the sand dunes! Telli reached the top first!

2013-05-26 10.33.28

She had so much fun–but I’m sure, like her mama, was exhausted! I reached the top and it was a beautiful view. It’s like the world’s biggest beach with mountains in the backdrop!

2013-05-26 10.45.11

And now the fun part….going down! You had the option to take the trail (the ridge line where it was easier to walk) back down or just run or surf down the dune. I decided to run…and hopefully not tumble! It was so fun…but challenging too! It was pretty steep and the sand had gotten pretty hot by this point so I started doing a little dance while running down too! Since there weren’t many people around us running down the hill we let Telli off the leash and she had a blast! Zooming around us up and down enjoying this new thing…SAND!  Then when she got tired she dug into the sand so she could lay on cooler sand….she’s so smart!

2013-05-26 10.52.20

We got to the bottom where there is a small creek, Medano Creek. It’s only a couple inches deep, but the perfect depth to cool of your paws and feet! We played in the water for a bit and even walked pretty far down the creek!! Telli loved every minute of it!

2013-05-26 11.28.49

After a little relaxing on “the beach” we headed back to the campsite for a relaxing afternoon. We chatted in the sun, took a nap in the chairs, and the dogs passed out for the rest of the afternoon. Telli wanted so badly to stay awake, she was doing the whole head bobbing I want to be awake, but my eyes are so tired!

2013-05-26 14.03.26

We enjoyed a campfire, s’mores, dinner conversation and the sunset before heading to bed.

2013-05-26 20.13.35

The next morning, Telli had me up at 5:30 again to take a walk! It was chilly! You can tell a cold front came through overnight (I remember really using my mummy sack sleeping bag in the middle of the night!). I put on so many different layers and just couldn’t warm up, so I brought Nate’s sleeping bag out to enjoy my much needed morning coffee! Nate told me it looked like I was wearing a down snuggie! 🙂

2013-05-27 06.36.12

While we packed up the camping gear the dogs played and rested. The did so good considering they were tied up in a campsite! Lots of untangling leashes and leads. They were very dirty from the dusty dirt after this trip…Telli almost looked like an older lab with grey patches!

2013-05-27 08.26.11

On our way out of town, we stopped by another “thing to do.” Hike 1/2 mile to Zappata Falls. It was a nice easy walk (I can’t call it a hike after the Sand Dunes the day before). We got to the base of the falls and unfortunately you have to walk around a cave  to see the falls. As much as I wanted to see it, I think many people had our same idea because it was super crowded, and we weren’t able to take Telli. There were portions where you had to hold onto ropes attached to the walls and /or cross the river. Even at the base of the falls it was still beautiful!

It was a great way to spend a long weekend and enjoy conversations by friends! I am so thankful to those who served our country and fought for our freedom so that I can feel safe and enjoy Gods beautiful creation!

Candy Crush Saga

Happy Saturday to you all! I am thrilled to finally have the weekend here! Yup, I was the lucky one to work today, but we were pretty slow, so I got to leave early! Whoop-whoop! And we’re on our way to go camping! Whoop-whoop! And I’m typing my first post on my phone… Not so whoop-whoop, but we’ll see how it goes!

Welp, that may have been my first mistake… Hopefully you see the picture, and I think I published it a little early too! 😉 we are on a beautiful and long drive! At least I have a lot to keep me occupied! Candy crush saga, candy crush saga and more candy crush saga.
Have you played this game? I was completely against starting it, because according to Facebook it’s very addicting. Well after telling all my co-workers about it, and them becoming addicted to it and talking non-stop about it, I no longer had self-control. I started playing. And I can’t stop! I’ve been locked out and on the same level forever it feels like! I’m determined to pass it before we get to our campsite…but that’s not looking very promising!
Anyway, I hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend and regardless what kind of fun your having we all remember the people that paid the ultimate price to give us this freedom!
I will have a recap on my way home!
❤ God Bless

Vail Cascade stay-cation weekend!

Good evening! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I am just relaxing after a fabulous weekend in the mountains! Nate and I had got a living social deal a couple months ago for a 1 night stay in Vail. We didn’t recognize the name of the resort and we figured it would be perfect timing just before it gets too busy at the mountain resorts during the summer.

First I must say, having two days off in row with my husband was awesome! We took our time Saturday morning with breakfast, coffee and packing. We left our house and took off for a 1 1/2 hour drive to Vail. Telli did so good in the back seat and slept for most of the way. We always wonder after we drive for 10 minutes, does she think she is going for a long road trip (aka to Wisconsin) or somewhere closer that’s going to be really, really fun! Here is Telli looking cute as ever!

We got to Vail Cascade and O-M-G….it was beautiful! It fits right in the Vail Valley with a luxurious, but mountainous feel as well. We weren’t sure if they would have our room ready at noon, but they did! Heck yeah! We walked to, it opened the door and fell in love at first sight. The room was cool, but the view–Ah-mazing! We were on the ground level which had a terrace, walking path and Gore Creek right outside our room! The snow is currently melting, so the water was rushing and you could hear the roar from our room. How cool is that!

OHbGcRxNOMcCdi_I6uK1YTtiWgj__9SnNh8FIue50qw,6Up_LLFQmqYHWoKFsBwFQ3VB7tmAv92OOa0suxQfGZM            tkqS4pLehGR_zL-XwT3CxZ163NYPXMndIA24bHnc2nY      DSC00206

We knew the weather wasn’t going to be the best for the weekend, so while it was sunny with blue skies, we took a walk on the path right outside our room and along the creek. It was beautiful! I couldn’t help myself but do a little walking on the rocks and then of course, “hunny, take a picture of me!” 🙂

We enjoyed the fresh mountain air, and taking in the beautiful views!

DSC00207    DSC00201

Our walk didn’t last very long because as soon as we saw the pool, we knew we had to go. Once again, in the back of our minds thinking it may not be very long before it starts to rain and storm. The mountains are notorious for their afternoon showers and thunderstorms! The pool and hot tub area was beautiful!

It was large enough to hold quite a few families with kids as well as a lot of couples like us! The water was saline water which I love because you don’t feel like the chlorine is eating away at your skin. Oh, and the best part–it was like bath water temperature! Perfect considering it was only about 60 degrees out!

I was my waterbug little self! Swimming, swimming, swimming and relaxing on the infiniti side! We even stayed in through the rain and the one rumble of thunder! All the families went in when it started raining, and we stayed out! We were nice and pruney, but I love pools and it was warm so Nate was a trooper with me!

It was getting late in the afternoon and our stomachs were pretty grumbly so we headed in to get ready for drinks and dinner. It was American Craft Beer week, so Nate was more than thrilled to try all the beers the hotel bar, Fireside Bar, offers. I still wasn’t thrilled about drinking more beer after my brewery tour earlier this week, so I was perfectly fine with my cocktail of choice- Blueberry vodka, Sprite and Grenadine! When Nate ordered a flight of beer, we got 50% appetizers!

We ordered the white bean lentil hummus…..this is much more than the standard hummus I was expecting.

The hummus was in a jar and the pita chips were very light and airy. It also came with sun-dried tomatoes, pickles, sweet peppers, olives and dates! Now that is what I call a hummus platter!

After some chilling by the fireplace with drinks we worked our way to the restaurant, Atwater on Gore Creek. If you ever need a delicious place to eat in Vail, I highly recommend Atwater on Gore Creek! It was mucho, mucho delicious! I started with my standard glass of Malbec. It was a great tasting wine!

I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted for dinner, they had too many good-looking things on their menu! A couple options I was considering; the butternut squash soup and a salad, Skuna Bay Salmon, Steak kabob or the Hand Torn Pasta….I went for the Hand Torn Pasta! It had crimini mushrooms, carrots, kale, butternut squash, kaffir lime and mushroom broth. It was the perfect dish to satisfy my desire for a healthy, savory, and warm option (since it was cold out!) I devoured every last bite!

Typically when the waitress asks if we want dessert, we decline. But they had a flour-less three chocolate mousse cake that we couldn’t turn down…and I don’t think you could either!

After a little relaxing and letting the food settle we wanted to go back into the hot tub! Well we didn’t end up in the hot tub because it was too hot, but we did end up back in the pool! It was still just like the bath water earlier, so it was perfect to relax and swim around a little bit! I think we stayed in with a few other people for a couple hours! It was so calm and peaceful, the stars were out and there were propane fires all over the pool deck. I could’ve stayed out there all night long!

This morning we woke up to lots of rain…so much for enjoying our little patio with a cup of coffee. We did keep the patio doors open and just listened to the rain and roaring river from inside with a warm cup of coffee! Personally I think just as good as being out there.

We checked out of our room and headed over to the club and spa to get a good workout in. I’ll be honest, since I don’t typically use a gym anymore, I was a little overwhelmed! I just get too excited to use so much of the equipment that I don’t put anything together. I started on the Arc trainer for 20 minutes, then did some weight training, abs and ended on the stair climber! It was a great way to get a good sweat in before heading home! And we were super excited to use the spa facilities with hot tub and steam room!

It was a fabulous weekend! I would recommend this hotel and spa to anybody (I will caution you, be ready to drop some cheddar if you didn’t go the cheap way with a living social coupon!) Golly I love living social deals! We get the opportunity to live and dine in luxury without spending the money like we are!

What is the best place you ever vacationed or stay-cationed?

Brewery Tour!

Ah….It’s Friday night, I have a two day weekend ahead of me, a glass of wine, and a delicious dinner! Perfect way to relax….

This was pasta with brussel sprouts and coconut milk! Good, healthy, refreshing! 🙂

Now to recap the highlight of my week.

Brewery Tour!

As I said in a previous post, The Woodhouse Spa, I love the company I work for! They are wonderful and take very good care of their employees. I may not always love my job, but I LOVE the company I work for! Our group manager set up a limo tour to 4 breweries in Fort Collins-all instead of a day at the office! Let me start of by saying I was a little nervous….I don’t drink very often, and I don’t drink beer very often, and I don’t drink all day very often…or like haven’t in 10 years! And I was around a lot of my upper management, so I wanted to make sure I didn’t “taste” too many beers! I did good!

The limo picked us up from work at 10 am and as soon as I climbed in I was handed my first Coors Light. It was surprisingly very tasty at 10 am (I think it was because I was so excited to not be at the office). An hour drive north we arrived to the first brewery. New Belgium Brewery.

I had heard so many great things about this brewery and I love their beer. Unfortunately we were not able to tour this brewery because it has a 2 month wait list! But we did get to taste a couple! I started with the Rolle Bolle. It was ok. Good thing I only had a taster, it was much more bitter than I was expecting. My second taster was delicious! It was the Plout ale. The Plout Ale has hints of apricots and plums and was on the sweeter side. It tasted similar to a cider beer and was very delicious!

We jumped back into the limo and headed to the Fort Collins Brewery for more beer and lunch! It was the perfect, beautiful day to sit out on the porch! We started with some amazing, very bad for me appetizers! Bacon wrapped pretzels! Sounds delicious right? Oh yeah, they were!

I loved this brewery because I was able to taste 8 different beers! I have no clue which ones are which or which ones tasted good. 😉 I did enjoy having many different varieties to choose from…I think I tend to get bored with the same beer in an entire bottle.

AL6jRwx5hIE7W0X6GRaUHIcenIzNQCYRfPeRmF--820-1               BA4wxI7tTtSsWyXH3a49etDIsPusqDT4dS4M56ZU3Iw

If you look closely, you can see the beers I checked off to try! And lunch….O-M-G! I knew I wanted to order the Chicken Thai Sandwich, but the hardest decision was what to have as my side dish. Typically if I see sweet potato fries on a menu, I am all over it, HOWEVER, they had mac and cheese. It may have been the beer talking, but I enjoyed my mac and cheese very, very, very much!

After full tummies, we jumped back into the limo for a quick drive to our next brewery…Odell. I love Odell.

They are known for their 90 Schilling, but once again we got multiple flights that we all picked a beer or two from before heading out on the tour. Their facility is currently under, I think they said, their 3rd renovation. It was cool to take a tour of their facility.I just wish they were bottling at the time. I think that’s always my favorite part. I can’t get over how fast bottles of beer get bottled and packaged! 🙂 I don’t really remember what all these pictures were, but I know there were large canisters to hold the beer, the used hops (they take to local farms to use to feed the horses–I think they said something along that line..) and the bottling area.

m5NWLzSmIyOWwVadR3OmmR9thnpRcDGbVehVeNUDII8 qBkdYMPK5-Sqyk0yv1zZ_5Pdn-UU4Ph6dgckL6Cdtzs l5v5vxRvAYwG5vF9CzoKooymVkUDR7CivMLt6xKFrJA

The free beer at the end of the tour was a coffee flavored beer, and I think I was the only one that enjoyed it!

Our last stop was to the Coopersmiths brewery. I think we all had had almost enough beer at this point, so we thought it would fun to play games. We opened a round of pool and a round of the golfing game. I am unfortunately terrible at arcade games and was the first one out, after only 3 holes of golf. I just enjoyed my final brewery beer. I don’t remember what it was called, but I do remember it had a slight taste of banana.

The limo drove us back to work where Nate was waiting for me to drive me home! What a wonderful, amazing husband I have! It was a great day, but I definitely was brought back to why I don’t like to drink a lot anymore…I hate being hungover. I hate how lazy I feel, how bad my head hurts, and how dehydrated I feel regardless of how much I drink. Needless to say, I wasn’t the happiest camper at work yesterday and today!

Have you ever been on a brewery tour? What is your favorite kind of beer?

I hope you all have a great weekend!

❤ Cheers and God bless

Total Body Buster Workout

Good morning! I hope you all woke up on the right side of the bed and are enjoying your morning cup of joe! I woke up and enjoyed my morning cup of coffee while watching the news. When I felt a little more awake I got ready for my morning workout! 6 workout days in a row–whoo-hoo! go me! 🙂 My body is definitely tired, so I will be taking a rest day tomorrow.

Todays workout was a total body buster, and boy it was tough! My heart rate was pumping and I was sweating. I got this workout from Julie at Peanut Butter Fingers. She has great circuit workouts on her blog and she shared this one after doing this workout with others at the gym.

I didn’t think it was going to be too bad, but any workout that includes burpees I should know WILL be tough! Also, jumping jacks have never seemed so difficult to do before….when they come after burpees and your body is feeling like jelly towards the end of the circuit, the basic jumping jack becomes seemingly difficult! 🙂 *****Quick side note, my niece is learning how to do a jumping jack. She says and does the motions to; Star, Statue, Star, Statue, etc….. it’s really cute to watch her learn to do jumping jacks. Do you remember learning how to do a jumping jack?

There was so much fresh fruit at the the store on Sunday, we picked up a whole bunch! Oatmeal is my go-to breakfast in the morning right now, so it wasn’t any other way today! I made my oatmeal (I know, you can’t really see the oatmeal part.) Toppings for my oatmeal included; chia seeds, flaxseed, strawberries, almond butter, banana and walnuts…..mmm…mmm….delish!

I also had a little smoothie leftover from yesterday, so I sipped on the leftovers during breakfast! This was a great smoothie; I am newly addicted to the green smoothie concept, I just added more berries so it overtook the “green” look! My smoothie yesterday included coconut milk (adds the perfect taste to any smoothie), spinach, kale and frozen mixed berries!

Recently, I have been making this smoothie in the morning and taking it to work. After being refrigerated for a couple hours it makes the perfect mid-morning, energy-booster, snack!

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!

Do you have a go-to breakfast? Do you make green smoothies?

❤ God Bless

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s, gramma’s mother-in-laws, and future mom’s out there! Although I don’t like the concept of having only one day to celebrate mom, it is a great way to make sure she is celebrated and honored for all she does! Mother’s are so important and I am so blessed to have such a wonderful mother, gramma’s and mother-in-law in my life. I hope one day I can be half the mother my mom was to me! Nate and I weren’t able to be with our mother’s on mothers day, but we were happy to spend last weekend at my parents and will be going down to Texas in mid-June to see Carla!

If you recall in my last post, I told you I had a great adventure planned for yesterday. Nate is a car guy. Anything with a big engine he knows. For Christmas, my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and myself bought him a half-day driving experience. We got to do just that yesterday! We arrived and jumped into our convertible top (Even though it was 8am and still a little chilly, I definitely wanted the top down!) CORVETTE, with a supped up engine! They did let us check out the other cars in their fleet, unfortunately, I couldn’t afford to buy him the driving experience in the Ferrari or Lamborghini..but he got to stand by them!

EKiiDBryScS-mJslNivglZgvqYwq_8BYf278DMDLA1k            uLPex431L6J4sIOD4BmfLzQCfNTYyHYbDBw1IvvtDiw

We headed out onto one of my favorite roads just west of Denver. It is a beautiful highway that winds through the cliffs and follows the river, it was gorgeous! The best part about buying this gift for Nate, was the fact I got to enjoy it with him!
CtKx7EbrPqXIysE0GaOvg7JB-bo90Lh9f2GgEhp6E0Y    SczYGizuvBQoUmTaIgiSegcp4iSkJ5Y-3SwVzrBfMFI

He enjoyed driving through the tunnels and revving the engine so that you could really hear it rumble. I have to be honest, for a non-car girl like me….it sounded really cool! We came out on the other side of the tunnel and I couldn’t stop laughing. He looked at me and said, “why are you laughing?” Me: “I’ve never seen you with such a big smile on your face for so long before! I even think you have a bigger smile on your face now than you did when I walked down the aisle!” needless to say, he very much enjoyed himself, driving a sports car through the mountains!

Unfortunately, we couldn’t keep it, and we had to turn it in…..

Since we were down in Denver and both of our running shoes are shot, we went to find ourselves some new kicks! I have a love/hate relationship with running shoe shopping. I love all the new styles and colors, but I hate having two different size feet, and they always feel different when you try them on in the store, compared to when you run in them. But check out my new kicks!

I love all the bright colored shoes that are in style right now!

When we got home, we had to test them out. We took Telli over to Elk Meadow and went on a 4 mile hike! It was beautiful outside and the trails were pretty dry with only a couple muddy spots! It was a great way to get out and enjoy the beautiful day!

Do you enjoy shoe shopping? What is your favorite pair of kicks? Do you use a Garmin watch while you trail run/hike? I’m looking to get one for my birthday and would love recommendations!

<God Bless

Seafood Baked Pasta

Happy Saturday evening to you!

I got home from work this evening and although Nate was starving I was determined to get a quick workout in…..since I slept in this morning and really didn’t want to get out of bed. 😦

My legs have been killing me these last couple of days, so I figured it was time to do an arm circuit workout! For some reason I’ve always enjoyed working my arms….maybe because I hate flabby arms (and I’m starting to get them…), maybe it’s because I love the burning feeling I get in my arms when I work out and pushing through every single rep, maybe it’s because I’m used to my legs being sore, so it’s nice to have my upper body sore too…not sure, but regardless, I love working out my arms. Except pull-ups.

Here was my circuit workout:

I loved incorporating a 2 minute run into it again….it kicks up the heart rate and keeps it going!

This morning I was watching an episode of The Pioneer Women. Ree always makes delicious meals, but the one she had this morning had both Nate and I drooling and deciding immediatley exactly what we were going to plan for dinner. While I was at work, Nate went to the store to pick up the shrimp and scallops (the only ingredients we didn’t have hanging around our house)

After my workout we worked in the kitchen together to cook our meal! I love when we cook together, we have too much fun in the kitchen! So here is the recipe and if you want to see Ree’s recipe and her gorgeous pictures, click here. Or you can deal with my “oh I really don’t know anything about photography pictures!” Either way, ENJOY!

Seafood Baked Pasta

– 1/2 cup of olive oil (I know it sounds like a lot, but you’ll need it all to coat the pasta)

– 3 cloves of garlic chopped

– 3 – 14.5oz of diced tomatoes

– 1/2 cup white wine (I love when recipes have wine in them….not only to enhance the taste, but also to drink! 😉 )

– 2 lbs shrimp (we thawed 1 lb of shrimp the frozen ones so they were already deveined and tail free and 1 lb of scallops)

– salt and pepper

– fresh parsley, minced

– 1 lb of pasta-we used a cool looking squiggly one we had in the cabinets

– red pepper flakes to taste

Cook pasta pre-al dente. You want the pasta to still be firm because you will continue to bake it in the oven.

In a large skillet or pot heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for a minute. Dump in the can of tomatoes (with juice) and wine. Stir the mixture together, season with salt and pepper, and let it cook for ten minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare a large dish with aluminum foil lining it and enough extra to be able to wrap around the full pasta dish.

In a separate skillet, put in a tablespoon of butter (we used coconut oil instead). Once it is melted, seer (cook briefly on the outside) the shrimp and scallops.

Add the shrimp and scallops to the skillet with the sauce.

The noodles should only need to boil for about 3-4 minutes. Combine all the ingredients in with the sauce. Dump the entire mixture into the pre-made aluminum bowl. I used a 9×13 pan and just wrapped it in aluminum foil. Tightly wrap the foil into a parcel.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and keep warm

I made a side salad for us to enjoy while the pasta baked…

And TADA!!!! Our delicious Seafood Baked Pasta!!!! (My photography just doesn’t do it justice!)

It tasted just as good as it looks and it will definitely be a keeper recipe! It was so easy to make, and we were able to put 4 extra servings into tupperware containers to have for leftovers. I love making meals that give us leftovers!

After we let our food settle, we ended our wonderful evening by taking a walk around the neighborhood!

I hope you all have a great Saturday night! Nate and I are off to bed early because we have a fun adventure planned bright and early tomorrow morning that I can’t wait to share with you!

Are you somebody that likes leftovers or absolutely no leftovers?!?

❤ God Bless

quick butt kickin’ workout

Good morning and happy Friday to you all!

This week has been all about getting back into the workout of things after my fabulous weekend back home. Wednesday evening was warm with a little drizzle ,so I took Telli for  a nice long walk with an extra hill! I love walking through the rain! The fresh smell of spring in the air and the little drizzle on the face….it’s just the best! Yesterday’s workout was a interval treadmill workout followed by some abs…..and today…yes TODAY was a quick butt kickin’ circuit workout!

I hit the snooze button 1 more time and therefore had to cut back my workout from 30-40 minutes to no more than 20! I new I had to create a good workout to sweat a lot n 20 minutes! This was the first time I incorporated the treadmill (2 minute) run into a circuit…and boy did it feel good! Since the circuit workout was total body but really focused on the legs, my legs were jelly by the final run in the circuit and it felt great to complete that last two minute run! I came upstairs to stretch and I was huffin’ and puffin’ and nice and sweaty! I feel great after that workout!

For breakfast I made some quick eggs (3 egg whites and 1 yolk) scrambled and added some almond butter and banana to the plate to make it a well rounded breakfast!

ooooo….and I almost forgot (I just saw the picture when I uploaded the others), you are going to drool over the dinner we ate last night. I found a recipe that I knew I just had to try (even though I haven’t had meatloaf in about 20 some years, it sounded sooooo good, and boy it was delicious!)

We had BBQ meatloaf and corn (I will add the recipe this weekend!

I hope you all enjoy your Friday!

Do you incorporate the treadmill/running into your circuit workout to give it an extra boost?

❤ God Bless

The kids played “pirate” in my dad’s fishing boat!

Nate and I were happy we got a free upgrade into a dodge journey, and so were the kids! They could ride with auntie Kendra and uncle Nate!

We went over to my brothers to enjoy a campfire, smore’s and guitar songs!

It always happens…. when you are around the people you love doing what you love… goes by waaaay to fast! We had such a fun weekend with my entire family back home and it’s always hard to go back. I cherish the moments withe my nieces and nephews of them wanting to ride with us, snuggle with us, and play with us….I have a feeling in 10 years they won’t want to snuggle with me as much as they do now!

Hope you all have a great day!

❤ God Bless

Up in the air we go!!

Well, I couldn’t be more excited, I am off work, at the airport and on my way home!!!! I love trips home when I get to see family, and family time is the only thing on the agenda for the weekend. Nate and I were talking the other night about going home and I think for me its more than just seeing family, its all the nostalgia of being home.

– My parents have lived in the same house since I was born. There is something about pulling up in the driveway and opening the back door and being welcomed with open arms.
– The house smell when I walk through the door
– Going up to my old room and seeing all my pictures and things from when I was a kid.
-I just love driving through my hometown! It is such a restored, historic beautiful place
-ooo..and my favorite….all the lakes!! They just look so refreshing and bring back many memories of spending countless hours on the lake!
-And not only the lakes but the trees! They are so large and mature and in the spring, lush and green! (I’m used to Denver where most of the trees have been planted in the last 10 years)
– I love walking down my street. Its where I learned to ride my bike!
-My neighbors house, although they don’t live there anymore, I am taken back to the countless hours I spent in their backyard.
– Going to my home church on Sunday! Its where I was baptized, confirmed and married. Its where I began to have a relationship with Jesus.

What’s your favorite part about going home, besides seeing family?

And I had to share this….they are filming a Southwest Airline commercial a couple gates away from us, how cool is that!!!

I got to hear them say “action” before walking on the escalator!! I hope I see this on TV sometime!

Have you ever seen something taped live in a place your weren’t expecting it?

Have a great night, I’ll check back in soon!!
